Dell Android OS Based Smartphones – Are They the Future of Smartphone Technology?


Dell Mobile | Android and Windows Phone 7 OSThe Dell Android OS mobile phone lineup is coming soon to an AT&T retailer near you. With 5 high powered smartphones in development, it looks like Dell is ready to try and make a real impact in the cellular phone market. So far the Dell line up includes four Android OS based phones (the Dell Aero, Flash, Smoke, and Thunder) and one Windows Mobile 7 phone (the Dell Lightning). It looks like this is an exclusive deal with the full line up going only to the AT&T network.

The first scheduled release will be the Dell Aero, which is running on Google’s Android OS, and is scheduled for a late Q2 2010 release. After that it is the feature packed Dell Thunder and Dell Lightning both scheduled for a Q3 or Q4 2010 release. It is yet to be seen whether Dell will be able to master the smartphone market the way they have the PC world, but they are sure off to a good start.
